SRCH Mission Statement
Meet the SRCH Team
Dr. Nicole Baran BSc, DVM
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Dr. Baran has always enjoyed living in Northern Ontario and is happy to provide exceptional feline care here in Sudbury.
Dr. Baran received her BSc in Biology at Lakehead University before completing her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2008.

Dr. Baran has a special interest in feline dentistry and has obtained additional training in this field from renowned veterinary dentists. She is also interested in internal medicine, nutrition, complementary medicine and holds her second level certificate in Reiki.

Karen, BA, RVT - Head Technician
Karen graduated from the Veterninary Technician program at Northern College in the spring of 2008, and received her RVT status. She decided to pursue this career path after the passing of her childhood dog, Fluffy, a very senior Bichon Frise with whom she shared a special bond.
During her years working as a vet tech, her love for felines continued to deepen and she would rush to be the tech available for any cat appointments. She was eager to work at a cat hospital where she could work with cats full time.
She joined SRCH in 2016, and has become an indispensable part of the team.

Benadict, Clinic Cat & Blood Donor

Ben was rescued, and after a desparately needed hip operation has become the most loving of tabbies and devoted clinic cat. He is ready to help another feline in need of a blood transfusion. He has the softest belly fur and can be found hiding upside down in his favourite cat dome.
Celina, BSc, RVT
RVT

Celina was raised in a multi-pet household and always aimed for a future in the veterinary industry. She has spent many summers working with wildlife at Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre where she met Dr. Nicole. After graduating from Nipissing University with a bachelors in Biology, Celina joined Georgian College's Veterinary Technician Program where she graduated in June 2021 and got her registration in August. In her spare time she enjoys visiting Turtle Pond, and spending time with her dog Bailey and cat Aby.

Lindsay, Veterinary Receptionist
Client Services & Patient Care

Lindsay joined the SRCH team in March 2019 and comes to us with a background in nursing and administration. Lindsay has always had a love and passion for animals, especially cats and hoped that one day she would be able to have a career working with animals. She brings with her a dedication and passion to helping patients and clients.
Away from the clinic, Lindsay enjoys being at home with her family and hanging out with her cat Sadie. She also loves spending her time working on creative projects, whether it’s baking or a DIY project.

Kyla
Hospital Attendant

Kyla has completed an advanced diploma in Pre-Health Sciences and is currently studying Medical Radiation Technology at Cambrian College. Growing up around nature and with plenty of pets in her home, she has joined our team to learn and keep in touch with her love for animals.

Abbey, office cat

We have had the joy of rescuing Abbey over a year ago, and she now calls our office her home. She enjoys claiming the doctor's chair for afternoon naps, photo bombing, and making her mark on everyone's heart with those striking green eyes.
Jack, Clinic Cat
Jack joined SRCH after ingesting an alarming number of hair ties. He needed emergency gastric surgery to remove them, and was so impressed with the skill and care of the SRCH team that he made it his life's mission to reassure all SRCH patients coming in that they couldn't be at a better place.

Jack enjoys venison pate, catnip, playing with his Cat Dancer, and above all - afternoon naps while being adored.
